Never leave home without your Passport!

Tradition has it, every C2C walker must carry in their pocket or rucksack a pebble taken from the Irish Sea at St Bees Head to drop in the North Sea at Robin Hood’s Bay.

We're sure you can make space for a small Passport too!

Collect stamps as you go...

Passport stamping is not a new idea – the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route through southern France and northern Spain being perhaps the most famous example – but this is the first and only official Passport initiative to support walkers on the Coast to Coast.

The Passport allows you to collect stamps from up to 80 agents located on route. These range from local shops; pubs and eateries; accommodation providers and tourist attractions. Many offer discounts on their goods and services, not to mention memorable photo opportunities to capture different milestones along the way.

And the passport remains valid until you reach the end, however long it takes.

Find the Agents

The Passport is a fun, easy to use way to record your progress along the trail. From St Bees to Robin Hood’s Bay there are up to 80 agents in more than 30 different locations...

Agents are listed in the Passport and can be found on this map here. Every agent has a uniquely created stamp for their location. The Passport provides a space under each location for one of these to be added. You only need to acquire ONE stamp in any given location and you can choose to collect as many stamps as you wish to demonstrate that you've completed your journey.

Many agents offer special deals on food, drink and useful items such as socks and boot care products, as well as reduced admission to visitor attractions...

These are all listed in the Passport and appear as individual advertisements immediately after the list of the Agents. In some locations there will be a choice of agents from which to obtain a new stamp but in other places there is only one. Most agents are on the trail and others are very close to it, so you may need to make a slight detour from time to time.

Whenever you come upon a stamping location, although you will only need to visit ONE agent to get your stamp for that location, you will be able to take advantage of as many of the Passport offers that you wish. In other words, even if you have already acquired your stamp for a specific location, you can still visit the other agents (and advertisers in the Passport) to receive the discounts. You will be asked to show your Passport to qualify for the various offers.

Celebrate!

Once you have finished the route, your chosen stamping agent in Robin Hood’s Bay will add a special completion stamp to your Passport.

All you have to do is take a quick photo of pages 132-133 showing your unique Passport number and final stamp. A completion certificate is then emailed to you within 10 days. It will be designed as a personalised memento that can be printed out and even framed for display as evidence of your hard work and success.
